NGCA Honors Two Northwest Golfers
MARYVILLE, Mo.—Northwest Missouri State junior Jessica Feuerbach and sophomore Megan Chaney have been named to the 2009-10 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team. It’s the first such honor for both student-athletes.
A total of 102 Division II women’s golfers qualified for the team which required a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and competition in at least 66 percent of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds. Feuerbach and Chaney are two of five selections from MIAA-member institutions.
Feuerbach and Chaney led Northwest with stroke averages of 89.7 and 89.9, respectively, this past season. The two share the record for the lowest round in program history. Feuerbach shot an 11-over-par 83 at the Bearcat Fall Invitational last October. Two weeks later, Chaney shot an 11-over-par 82 at the Avila Fall Invitational.
Feuerbach maintains a 3.64 grade point average while majoring in horticulture. Chaney maintains a 3.79 average while majoring in elementary education.
