Chaney Takes Fourth at Green and Gold Shootout
ST. JOSEPH, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State sophomore Megan Chaney shot rounds of 94 and 89 to place fourth at the Green and Gold Spring Shootout that took place Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday's round took place at Mozingo Lake Golf Course in Maryville. Thursday's round was held at Fairview Golf Course in St. Joseph.
Missouri Western won the two-team dual with a team score of 706. Northwest finished with a two-day total of 770. The Griffons' Natalie Bird took medalist honors with a score of 175 (30-over-par).
The two teams battled rain and wind gusts that reached more than 20 miles per hour during Wednesday's round before the skies cleared for Thursday. It was the second meet of the spring for the Bearcats.
Northwest's Jessica Feuerbach and Lauren Atkinson placed seventh and 10th with scores of 185 and 201, respectively. Sarah Hayes (11th), Tess Edwards (12th) and Sara Stratton (13th) also competed for the Bearcats.
