Chaney Sets 36-Hole Record at Avila
KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State sophomore Megan Chaney followed Wednesday's 11-over-par 82 with an 85 Thursday to set a program 36-hole record and place seventh at the Avila Fall Invitational hosted by St. Andrews Golf Course.
Chaney's 25-over-par 167 is three strokes better than the 170 posted by teammate Jessica Feuerbach at the same tournament last season. Chaney's 82 also tied Feuerbach for the low round in the program's three seasons.
The Bearcats finished third overall with a two-day total of 748 - one stroke better than Park which took fourth. Truman won with a team total of 652 and Missouri Western placed second with a score of 669.
Junior Erin Lucthel tied for 16th place with rounds of 92 and 89 and earned the 10th top-20 finish of her career. Tess Edwards (198), Sara Stratton (202) and Sarah Hayes (204) placed 30th, 32nd and 33rd, respectively.
