Northwest Takes Eighth at Park Spring Invite
PARKVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State golfers Megan Chaney and Jessica Feuerbach turned in top-30 performances to help lead the Bearcats to an eighth place finish out of 14 teams at the Park University Spring Invitational hosted by The Deuce Country Club Monday and Tuesday.
The 36-hole event featured two other MIAA teams including Truman, which placed third, and Missouri Western, which took 10th. Division I Western Illinois won the event with at two-day team total of 644. William Woods was 15 strokes back in second place.
Chaney and Feuerbach finished 22nd and 29th, respectively, in the 77-player field. Chaney fired rounds of 92 and 85 to finish 37-over par. Feuerbach went 93 and 90 for a two-day total of 183. Erin Luchtel (192), Sarah Hayes (197) and Sara Stratton (214) rounded out Northwest's lineup. Sydney Askin competed individually and finished with a score of 215.
Next Up: Northwest will wrap up its 2008-09 season next week with the inaugural MIAA women's golf championships hosted by Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo.
