Northwest Fourth After Day One
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Jessica Feuerbach shot an opening round 86 and Megan Chaney turned in an 89 to lead Northwest Missouri State on day one of the Bearcat Invitational at Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
The Bearcats are fourth of seven teams with a team total of 364, three strokes better than fifth-place Missouri Western. The 36-hole tournament resumes Friday at 9 a.m.
Rockhurst University's Carmen Titus shot a five-over-par 77 to lead the tournament field. Amy Powell of Nebraska-Omaha is three strokes behind in second. The Mavericks have three players in the top 10 and a nine-stroke lead in the team tally. Nebraska-Omaha (332), Park University (341) and Rockhurst (343) hold the top spots.
Feuerbach tied her best score as a Bearcat and Chaney, a freshman, turned in her best score in five rounds. The two sit 11th and 17th, respectively, in the individual race. Erin Luchtel posted a collegiate-best 91 and sits in 20th place.
