
KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Northwest Missouri State freshman Megan Chaney shot a two-day total of 185 to lead the Bearcats to a fourth-place finish at the inaugural women’s MIAA golf championships hosted by Shoal Creek Golf Course Monday and Tuesday.
Chaney and teammate Jessica Feuerbach finished 13th and 14th, respectively, to pace Northwest. Chaney shot rounds of 92 and 93 while Feuerbach went 96 and 92. Erin Luchtel (17th), Sarah Hayes (20th) and Sara Stratton (23rd) rounded out the Bearcats’ lineup.
Nebraska-Omaha won the team title with a 36-hole team score of 651. Truman was second at 678. Missouri Western’s 758 was 20 strokes better than the Bearcats.
Nebraska-Omaha’s Erin Ommen earned medalist honors with a nine-over-par 153. The Mavericks finished 1-4 in the individual standings.
