
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Jessica Feuerback finished 13th and Megan Chaney 18th to lead Northwest Missouri State's women's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Bearcat Invitational hosted by Mozingo Lake Golf Course Thursday and Friday.
Feuerbach fired back-to-back rounds of 86 and 89 and finished four shots back of the top 10. Chaney followed Thursday's round of 89 with a 90 on Friday.
The Bearcats improved their team score by four strokes, but lost a spot to Missouri Western, which turned in a team total of 719. Northwest finished at 724.
Nebraska-Omaha won the event by 53 strokes. Medalist Erin Ommen shot a four-under-par 68 Friday to tie Avila's Krita Nelson two-day total of 155. Scores on the hardest holes of the golf course were used to break the tie.
Rockhurst finished second with a team total of 690, four strokes better than third-place Park.
In addition to Feuerbach and Chaney, Erin Luchtel posted 91 both days and placed 23rd. Sarah Hayes finished with 188 (98-90) and Sydney Askin ended at 195 (98-97).
