Women's Golf Signs Three More for 2007-08 Season
MARYVILLE -- Three more golfers have been added to the Northwest Missouri State women's golf team, announced head coach Pat McLaughlin today. Molly Ramsey (Columbia, Mo.), Adrienne Taylor (Marceline, Mo.) and Lindsey Werdehausen (Huntsville, Mo.) all signed Northwest and NCAA National Letters of Intent to bring the 2007-08 signing class to nine. All three will be incoming freshmen at Northwest in the fall.
Ramsey is a graduate of Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Mo. She nearly advanced to state competition as a senior.
"Molly was part of a successful women's golf program that had three of their seniors sign national letters of intent to play at the college level," said McLaughlin.
Taylor was a state qualifier at Marceline High School. She earned all-state, all-district and first team all-conference honors as well. She was the top medalist at the Louis & Clark Conference Tournament.
"Adrienne comes to Northwest after a successful four-year golfing career where she achieved a number of honors," said McLaughlin. "She should be very helpful in our women's golf program."
Werdehausen played her prep golf at Westran High School in Huntsville, Mo. She was a member of the All-Lewis & Clark Conference team and an all-district golfer who qualified for state competition.
"I am very pleased that Lindsey chose Northwest to play golf," said McLaughlin. "She finished in the top-third of the state tournament in Class 1 and will add a lot to our team."
Northwest is the fourth team in the MIAA to field a women's golf team -- Missouri Western, Truman State and Fort Hays State are the others. Since there are four teams, a conference tournament will be held. Once there are six teams to sponsor women's golf, the programs are eligible for NCAA postseason play.
Northwest is scheduled to kick off its inaugural season by hosting the Bearcat Invitational on Sept 15 at Mozingo Lake Golf Course.
