Football ranked first in Super Region ThreeNCAA Division II Rankings
MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State football team was the Super Region Three’s top seeded team in the first installment of regional rankings released by the NCAA today. Northwest, who enters the weekend at 8-0, was ranked ahead of Minnesota State-Mankato, Minnesota Duluth, St. Cloud State and Henderson State, respectively.
Northwest was ranked second this week by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), receiving seven first-place votes. Four other MIAA schools were also ranked in both the AFCA and Super Region Three rankings. Pittsburg State (7-1) was sixth in the region and checked in at No. 7 in the AFCA poll. Missouri Western (7-1) is seventh in the regional rankings and 12th in the AFCA. Washburn (8-0) is eighth in the region as well as in the AFCA poll. Emporia State (7-0) is ninth in the region and 14th in the AFCA poll.
Northwest and Washburn will play this Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
