Football Holds First Practice of 2013 Season
MARYVILLE, Mo. - The Northwest Missouri State football team held its first practice of the 2013 season on Thursday. Rain early in the morning forced the team inside for the first portion of practice but let up and allowed the remainder of the workout to take place at Bearcat Stadium. The team will workout in helmets for the first two days of practices.
"I thought the defense really played well today," said head football coach Adam Dorrel. "Our defensive line was sharp and even with the weather, we were able to get through a lot of things we needed to today. Our upperclassmen put in a lot of work between spring ball and today and it showed."
The team will hold its second practice Friday morning at 9 a.m. The first team scrimmage is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22. The 2013 regular season begins on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 6:30 p.m. against Saginaw Valley State.
