Northwest alumni Eric Zornes and Katie Denison of Kansas City-based Mile Marker 8 Productions, in association with Niles Media Group, followed the Bearcat football team on its journey last season. From the retirement of legendary head football coach Mel Tjeerdsma to the death of head coach Scott Bostwick and from the start of camp to a heartbreaking playoff loss, “Dream Season” captures the emotions of family, friends and teammates during the 2011 football season.
“There has been an unbelievable amount of support for ‘Dream Season’ from the community,” Zornes said. “Viewers will see the beaming pride and sense of loyalty the Maryville townspeople have toward their football team as we ventured into local businesses and homes throughout the football season, including holiday celebrations and family dinners.”
The project, in cooperation with Northwest Missouri State University’s Department of Athletics, is sponsored by Northwest Cell, The Hangar.
