Football celebrates 2011 season
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State coaches, fans and student-athletes celebrated the 2011 season in a ceremony last weekend on the Northwest campus.
The 2011 Bearcats finished 11-3 and returned to the NCAA Division II playoffs for the eighth consecutive season, the longest current streak in Division II. Northwest also finished the regular season averaging 50 points per game, the most in NCAA Division II and scored the second most points of any team regardless of affiliation only behind Division I Houston.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of the 2011 football awards. A listing of those awards can be found below:

Spirit of the BEARCAT Award: Kyle Kilgore, Blake Christopher
The Bearcats begin spring practice March 12 and will conclude spring drills with the annual spring game April 14 at 5 p.m.
