Spring game to be held April 9
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State will hold its spring football game at 6 p.m. April 9 as part of the Bearcats' "Spring Showcase". Fans are encouraged to take part in a variety of activities during the day, including baseball and softball doubleheaders.
Northwest softball hosts a doubleheader with Central Missouri at noon and baseball plays Southwest Baptist in a two-game set at 1 p.m.
Fans may tailgate in the regularly assigned parking lots from 2-6 p.m. for the game. Please note that Northwest does not allow alcohol or smoking on campus. Beginning at 5 p.m. the team will take the field for warm-ups. Fans are encouraged to come onto the field during that time to interact with the team.
Fans will have the chance to come down onto the field and call plays during the game. Bobby Bearcat will randomly choose fans to participate in this activity. In between quarters, fans can win t-shirts by making a 25-yard field goal and by throwing footballs into the quarterback nets.
Each quarter will be 12 minutes long and will have a running clock except for the final two minutes of each half. Halftime will be 15 minutes.
Teams will be divided into two teams - the green team and the white team - via a draft amongst the players. KXCV and KRNW will be broadcasting the game on the Bearcat Radio Network.
Admission to the game is $4. For students, admission is free with a canned good donation. Fans are to enter through the west side of the stadium. The only gate/ticket window that will be open for the game is the one on the home side of the stadium
The Bearcat bookstore will be open and will have apparel available for purchase in the Spirit Shop.
