Eastern New Mexico added to football schedule
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State's football program will host the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds in a 1 p.m. kickoff Oct. 15 at Bearcat Stadium. The Greyhounds fill the spot vacated by Nebraska-Omaha, which announced plans to eliminate its football program earlier this week.
"Our administration and football staff worked feverishly to find an opponent and we're thrilled to have completed that process in a quick and efficient manner," said Northwest director of athletics Wren Baker. "A full slate of home games is important to our community, our team and our fans."
Eastern New Mexico will be the third of five home games on a slate which includes Sioux Falls (Sept. 10), Fort Hays State (Sept. 24), homecoming against Washburn (Oct. 22) and Emporia State (Nov. 12).
The Greyhounds finished 5-6 last season and placed third in the North Division of the Lone Star Conference with a 4-6 record.
