Akpan Signs With Northwest Football

MARYVILLE, Mo.-Western Hills High School senior defensive lineman Akere Akpan has signed a national letter of intent to play football at Northwest Missouri State in 2010. A native of Benbrook, Texas, Akpan was a two-time first-team all-district lineman for coach Mike Lawrence and the Cougars.

Akpan also competed in powerlifting and track and field at Western Hills. He is the son of Edem and Ebong Akpan.
