Round Two, Ring the Bell

Abe Qaoud, Senior, WR, Football

It's a new season and all of the goals that we set to accomplish in the regular season have been achieved and we are right where we want to be. A conference championship and a first-round bye was nice, but now it's time to start the real season. With our only loss this year being to ACU, I would be lying if I said I was not rooting for them to beat Midwestern last week. These guys are our rivals. Counting this Saturday, we will have played ACU four times in the past two years. That's more than any other team that we face. So far they have beaten us twice and we have one win, last year's playoffs. People around this town like to think that our rivals consist of teams like Mo West and Washburn, which is somewhat true, but to me a rival is an oppenent who can actually beat you and you're always playing them in big games like the playoffs.

My very first blog this year was about this new and improved Bearcat offense that I couldn't wait to be showcased in front of Bearcat nation. Well, I might of spoke to soon because the season opener didn't go so well, and we did not play good as an offensive unit. However, that makes this Saturday's game even more special. Not only do we get to play our rivals to see who moves on and who goes home, but we also get to see how much we have improved as an offense since week one. I am very proud of what we have accomplished as an offensive unit so far this season, but how good are we? That would be the question we are going to try an answer on Saturday.

With all that being said, the number one goal from here on out is to win. No matter what! It would be nice to see how much we have improved, but winning is the important thing no matter the score. Just like us, ACU has gotten better since the first game and it should be a great one on Saturday. I wouldn't miss it if I were you. Round 4 against our biggest rivals...somebody ring the bell already!!

Bring everybody you know. GO BEARCATS!!!!!!!!

See ya on Saturday .
