Ready to Go...It's Senior Day
Sean Paddock, Senior, DE, Football
Paddock here again,
It's been a long couple weeks with this whole foot situation. I practiced for the first time this week in what felt like forever. My coach likes to joke with me that I've been on vacation, but it really has been anything but. These last few weeks have been pretty tough to stay positive with it being my senior year and all.
Everyone has been very supportive and constantly reminding me that we should have a long season ahead of us, but it's just not very fun to watch the season roll by on the sidelines. I underestimated how difficult it would be to remain tuned in and vocal when I'm standing in the back of the end zone watching practice. It felt great to get back out there and rejoin all of my teammates and I'm excited to have the opportunity to play in Saturday's game against the Mules.
Saturday we have the opportunity to close the door on the MIAA and put ourselves in a great position going into the postseason. We have to take care of business first though, otherwise everything we've done to this point is kind of lost. Central will be a tough opponent. They always have a ton of talented players and are very good on special teams. Offensively, they like to throw the ball quite a bit and I don't see them deviating from this much, so we will need everyone to crank it up a notch. It's going to be nice to have some guys back that will help us tremendously and I hope to contribute to this effort as well. With it being senior day, I don't expect anything but everyone's best effort.
Wow, senior day is finally here. All year Abe has been saying this is our last this or our last that and I've just brushed it off and called him a sentimental little girl, but as the season draws to an end I'm finding myself becoming more and more like him. This is our last guaranteed game at Bearcat Stadium. I never thought it would get here, and I definitely never hoped it would . It's been an honor to be a part of such a close knit family and community. I know it's not over yet, but I'm definitely feeling it creep up on me. Well that's all from me folks.
