Northwest Bearcats

Press Release

Oct. 21, 2009

Abe Qaoud, Senior, WR, Football

It's HOMECOMING!!! What more can I say? My very last homecoming game. To me the best thing about homecoming is all the former players that come back to watch us play. Half of them will be on the sidelines with us encourging us and its just awesome to have them there with us again. At any other football program the homecoming game is where you schedule the worst team in the conference and beat up on them and keep the night young. Not at Northwest, we will face one of the very best teams in our conference this Saturday and the last team to beat us at home in the MIAA.

Washburn is no joke, they beat Pitt State by like 50 pts last week and should have beaten Missouri Western if it wasn't for some tough calls at the end of that game a couple of weeks ago. They will be ready and we will have to play a four-quarter game to come out on top. There are only two games that are guaranteed to be at Bearcat Stadium and we have to make the most of the every opportunity left, especially us seniors.

On another note, my fellow captain Sean Paddock is up for homecoming king this year!! If you are a student and you're reading this, go vote for my friend. I know he is bummed that he will not be able to participate in this year's homecoming game but I know that he is doing everything that he can to make a speedy recovery and I know that he will for sure be ready to start dominating again when that time comes.

Bring EVERYBODY you know this Saturday! It is going to be a great atmosphere and an even better game!!
