Big Win Over Western

Abe Qaoud, Senior, WR, Football

Its week seven and this weekend we play Missouri Southern. Last Saturday was a big win as we took care of our rivals to the south. That had to have been the most fun I've had playing in a football game in the five years that I've been here. The atmosphere was incredible and there is nothing like playing in a big rivalry game like that. We came out on top and that made the game even more special. However that game is over and it's time to focus on Southern, plus we might see the Griffons again down the road so we can't bank too much on this regular season victory.

Missouri Southern is a very good team. They are the best 1-4 team I've ever seen based on watching film. They are athletic and have a lot of good players. Every game counts and the Bearcats are preparing for this game like any other big game no matter the records. It is also a home game and there is nothing like playing at home. Especially for the seniors since we don't really know how many more games we will be playing in front of the Bearcat faithful.

My fellow captain and one of my best friends Sean Paddock got injured on Saturday and I don't know the chances of him playing Saturday. We'll miss him but the great thing about Northwest is that we have great depth and there will be some players ready to go. It's not going to be the same without him out there with us.

This also limits his chances of playing walking football, and as soon as we beat his team all I am going to here is that he wasn't able to participate so the games don't count. Oh well, as long as he gets healthy quick and we keep on playing Bearcat football the way it's supposed to be played we'll be fine. 1-0 each week, thats the goal!

See ya on Saturday! Go BEARCATS!
