D2Football.com All-America Team Released
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Four Northwest Missouri State student-athletes have been named to the 2008 D2Football.com All-America Team released Thursday.
Junior defensive back Myles Burnsides earned first-team honors while junior running back LaRon Council, senior offensive lineman Jeremy Davis and junior defensive lineman Sean Paddock earned second-team honors. Senior offensive lineman Tom Pestock was named honorable mention.
D2Football.com is the third publication to hand first-team honors to Burnsides, who was CoSIDA's choice for national defensive player of the year. Davis has been named to four All-America teams, although D2Football.com is the first to omit him from first-team honors. Council has earned three All-America awards while Paddock has now earned two.
The D2Football.com All-America Team was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with input from coaches and sports information directors from around the country. The Web site has named an All-America team since its inception in 2000.
Don Hansen's Football Gazette, the fifth and final national publication to announce a 2008 All-America team, is expected to release its awards later this month.
