Fall Practice Underway at Northwest
MARYVILLE, Mo.-Determination. No complacency. Accountability.
That's the blueprint laid before the 2008 Northwest Missouri State football program, which held its first official practice Thursday morning on Mel Tjeerdsma Field. The Bearcats were greeted with perfect weather as more than 100 student-athletes took the field as a team for the first time this fall.
Newcomers like wide receiver Nick Rhodes (San Joaquin Delta C.C.), defensive tackle Lawrence "Moe" Dampeer (Univ. of Oklahoma) and quarterback Caleb Decius (Upper Iowa Univ.) were introduced to their new teammates. Others returned to the field for the first time following off-season surgery. Raphael Robinson, Brandon Clayton and Sean Paddock were among those in action Thursday.
