Bearcats Remain Second in Region

MARYVILLE, Mo.--For the fourth week in a row, the Northwest Missouri State University football team is ranked second in the Southwest Region. The Bearcats (8-1) once again sit behind Chadron State (10-0) in the region, but retains its edge on West Texas A&M (10-0).

The Bearcats defeated Emporia State University last weekend 24-7 to clinch the MIAA title outright. This is the second straight MIAA crown for Northwest, which concludes the regular season Saturday at home against Missouri Southern.

Missouri Western (8-2) is the only other MIAA team to make the top six in the regional rankings. Washburn (7-3) and Pittsburg State (7-3) are ranked eighth and ninth in the region, respectively.
