Omon Adds Two More Weekly Awards

MARYVILLE, Mo.-Northwest Missouri State senior running back Xavier Omon has been named the National Performer of the Week by CollegeSportsReport.com and an Offensive Player of the Week by D2Football.com for his performance against Pittsburg State Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Omon carried 34 times for a career-high 274 yards and scored all five touchdowns in a 37-34 overtime win against the 16th-ranked Gorillas. He scored the game-winner on a 4th-and-goal leap into the end zone. It was Omon's second five-touchdown performance in his last three games.

Omon was named the MIAA's Offensive Player of the Week Monday. He leads the nation in scoring at 20.4 points per game. He has 17 touchdowns thru five games this season.
