Bearcats Slip To 11th In Coaches' Poll
MARYVILLE, Mo.-The Northwest Missouri State football team dropped from No. 2 to No. 11 in the AFCA Coaches' Poll released Tuesday following its season-opening loss at Nebraska-Omaha.
It's the first time Northwest has moved out of the No. 2 spot since the national championship game of 2005 when the Bearcats were No. 21. Northwest has been ranked in the coaches' poll 44 consecutive times dating back to 2004.
UNO (2-0) moved up three spots to No. 8. Pittsburg State (2-0) improved one spot to No. 6. No other MIAA teams are ranked, however Missouri Western (2-0) is the first team on the outside looking in.
D2Football.com Poll: Northwest slipped to No. 9 in the D2Football.com Poll. Nebraska-Omaha jumped to No. 5. Pittsburg State (No. 11) and Missouri Western (No. 19) are also ranked in the poll.
