Football Invites Public for Season-Ending Celebration

MARYVILLE - The Northwest Missouri State football team invites the public for a season-ending celebration on Sunday, Feb. 11 at the Mary Lin Performing Arts Center on the Northwest campus. An autograph session with the team will last from 1:30-2:30 p.m., followed by an awards presentation by the coaches and showing of highlights from the 2006 season. The celebration is free to attend.

"The autograph session is one of the ways we see as our opportunity to give something back to our great fans," said head football coach Mel Tjeerdsma. "We want to show them how much we appreciate their support and hope they can be a part of the celebration."

The 2006 Bearcat football team ended the season with a 17-14 lost to Grand Valley State in the NCAA Division II National Championship. The Bearcats claimed their 20th Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics (MIAA) title with an undefeated 11-0 regular season.
