Tollefson Drafted in 7th Round of NFL Draft
NEW YORK -- Northwest Missouri State senior defensive end Dave Tollefson was drafted this afternoon (Sunday) in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. Tollefson, a native of Concord, Calif., was taken with the 253rd pick and was chosen by the Green Bay Packers. Tollefson left Northwest as the single-season sack leader posting 12.5 in 2005 and finished .5 sack shy of the all-time record of 21.5. The AFCA All-America selection was the 2005 MIAA Defensive Player of the Year.
Tollefson is the fifth Northwest player to be drafted to the NFL and the first since offensive tackle Seth Wand went to the Houston Texans in 2003.
One other MIAA player was drafted this year. Delanie Walker, a wide receiver from Central Missouri State, was taken in the sixth round.
