Spring Practice Schedule Set; Northwest Fresh Off a National Championship Appearance
MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State head football coach Mel Tjeerdsma announced the 2006 spring practice schedule today. Practice begins on Thursday, March 9, which is one of 15 organized sessions. The weekday practices begin approximately at 4:00 p.m. and last for two hours. Weekend practices will begin around 11:00 a.m.
A Spring Scrimmage is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, April 9 at Bearcat Stadium.
The No. 2 Bearcats ended their season at 11-4 and its third National Championship appearance. Northwest loses 12 seniors from 2005 but welcomes back five offensive starters and eight defensive starters.
2006 Spring Schedule (Times listed are tentative):
March 9 - no pads
March 10 - no pads
March 11 - shoulder pads
March 13 - full
March 14 - shoulder pads
March 16 - full
March 27 - shoulder pads
March 28 - full
March 30 - full (possible scrimmage)
March 31 - shoulder pads
April 3 - shoulder pads
April 4 - full
April 6 - shoulder pads
April 7 - no pads
April 9 - Spring Scrimmage
