Football Tickets Available for Washburn Game; Orders Begin on Monday at 8 a.m.
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Football playoff tickets between Northwest Missouri State and Washburn will go on sale for Northwest fans at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Tickets can be ordered by phone at 562-1212 or at the Student Services Center at the Northwest Administration Building. An additional shipment of 1,000 tickets are available after the initial 500 were sold early Monday morning. Once the Northwest allotment is sold, fans can still order through the Washburn Ticket Office at (785) 670-2637. The cost of tickets is $8.
Northwest and Washburn face off in the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 19 with kick-off tentatively set for 12 p.m. in Topeka, Kan. The Bearcats, the No. 6 seed, blew by Angelo (Tex.) State today (Saturday) 45-14 to advance to meet Washburn. The Ichabods, who earned the No. 2 seed, had a first round bye and were winners of the MIAA for the first time in the sport.
The Bearcats and Ichabods have never faced each other in playoff action. Northwest holds a 18-6 series edge despite dropping a 31-28 game on Oct. 8. That loss halted a 10-game winning streak for the Bearcats. Northwest is 3-4 on the road in the playoffs and 3-3 in the NCAA Second Round.
