Tones Leaves Bearcat Football

MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University head football coach Mel Tjeerdsma has announced that Nick Tones (Fr.-RS, Iowa City, Iowa) has left the team, due to injuries.

The 6-foot 5-inch, 285-pound offensive lineman had seen action in two games this season. He missed all of last season after suffering a knee injury. Tones missed the Minnesota State-Mankato game earlier this season with a hand injury.

"We're very disappointed to lose Nick from our team," Tjeerdsma said. "He is a very good football player and a wonderful young man. Unfortunately, the injuries he has suffered just took their toll on him. We obviously wish him the best."
