Bearcats have good showing at MIAA Championships

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Northwest Missouri State cross country teams ran at the MIAA Championships Saturday. The event was hosted by Pittsburg State. The Bearcat men placed fifth and the women finished seventh.

Nolan Zimmer placed sixth for the men individually as he finished with a time of 25:01.92, earning All-MIAA honors. He was the only top-10 finisher for Northwest.

As a team the Bearcats finished fifth out of the 10 teams that competed with Central Missouri finishing first.

On the women’s side, Anne Herbert finished in the top 10 placing fifth overall posting a time of 22:02.31, joining Zimmer on the All-MIAA accolade list.

The women’s cross country team placed seventh among the 11 teams competing as Southwest Baptist took first.

Up next for the Bearcats is the Central Region Championships which will be held in Sioux Falls, S.D., Nov. 9.
