NEW ORLEANS – Northwest Missouri State cross country had three members of the 2013 team earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors on Friday, in a release from the organization on Friday.
Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.25 or greater and must have finished among the top 30 percent of total eligible runners at her regional championship (total Division II teams in the region multiplied by seven runners per team) or in the top half of the field at the NCAA Championships. In all, 337 women from 126 institutions and 212 men from 96 different institutions earned all-academic honors.
Northwest’s honorees include Katti Carroll, a senior from Clarence, Mo., Anne Herbert, a sophomore from Hinsdale, Ill., and Kit Anderson, a junior from Norwalk, Iowa. Carroll, an applied health science major earned a 4.0 GPA. Herbert had a 3.91 GPA in biology and Anderson, who majors in elementary education, had a 3.44 GPA.
Both the men's and women's teams earned all-academic team honors. The Northwest men had a cumulative 3.61 GPA and the women had a 3.35. Programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.00 or greater and scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet to qualify for the award.
