Bearcat cross country earns All-Academic honors
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Four individuals and both men’s and women’s cross country teams at Northwest Missouri State were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) earning Division II All-Academic Cross Country status.
The Bearcat women were one of nine MIAA schools to earn All-Academic honors with a 3.55 team GPA, while the men were one of seven MIAA teams. The Northwest men finished with a team GPA of 3.12. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have compiled a team score at their respective NCAA regional championship.
Individually, three Bearcat women earned All-Academic honors including: Jordan Esry, Anne Herbert and Brittany Poole. The lone representative for the Bearcat men was Drew Keefer earning All-Academic accolades.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team in Division II, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or greater through the most-recent semester, completed at least 12 credit hours in the semester of cross country competition, and placed in the top 50 percent at the most recent NCAA National Championships or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.
