On the men's side, the Bearcats moved up one position to No. 5 in the South Central Region rankings, while Central Missouri continues to hold onto the No. 1 spot. The top three on the men's side remained unchanged while Missouri Southern jumped from No. 7 to No. 4 this week.
Northwest will be off the next two weeks and will return to action Oct. 22 when they head to Missouri Southern for the MIAA Championships. In the 2011 preseason coaches' polls the Bearcat women were tabbed third in the MIAA with the men picked to place fourth.
