‘Cats Cross Country Cruises in Kansas
EMPORIA, Kansas - The Northwest Missouri State University men's and women's cross country teams picked up wins at the 2011 Planet Sub Invitational at Jones Park in northwest Emporia Friday night.
The men placed their top five runners in the top eighteen, while the women top five runners placed in the top thirty to each capture the meet titles.
For the women Angela Adams came in at second place at 17:44.27 to pace the Bearcats followed by Katti Carroll in third. Carroll crossed the line at 18:22.6 while Jordan Esry followed in twelfth place respectively. Heidi Johnson crossed the line in twentieth to place four runners in the top twenty for Northwest.
On the men's side TR Pursell paced the Bearcats by finishing in fifth place with a time of 25:40.57. Ryan Darling would next cross the finish line for the Bearcats in tenth place at 26:04.90 while Zach Layton was right behind him in eleventh place. Drew Keefer and Jacob Henry would cross the line for the Bearcats in sixteenth and eighteenth to round out their top four.
The Bearcats will next head to Rolla, Mo. on Oct. 8 as both the men and women will compete at the DII Challenge
