Women’s Cross Country is Preseason #22
MARYVILLE, Mo.-One day after learning it was ranked fourth in the South Central Region, Northwest Missouri State's women's cross country program received a preseason national ranking of 22 by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Northwest is one of four MIAA programs featured in the top 25 joining Missouri Southern (#8), Truman (#15) and Pittsburg State (#19). Defending national champion Adams State begins the year at number one.
Northwest finished fifth at the NCAA South Central regional meet last November. The Bearcats return five of their seven runners who competed in that meet. Northwest will make its 2010 debut Sept. 11 at the Bearcat Open in Maryville.
