Bearcats Compete at NCAA South Central Regional Meet
Abilene, Texas- The Northwest Missouri State men's and women's cross country teams competed Saturday at the NCAA South Central Regional held in Abilene, Texas.
The Northwest women finished in fifth place out of 21 teams with a team score of 188. Angela Adams was the top finisher for the Bearcats. Adams finished in 14th place overall with a time of 22:29.03. Adams missed moving on to the NCAA Championship meet by one place, finishing six seconds behind Incarnate Word's Marie Troufflard. Anna O'Brien ran a time of 22:42.35, finishing in 18th place. Missouri Southern won the meet for the women with a score of 18 points.
The Bearcat men finished in 13th place overall out of 19 teams. Zach Layton had the best finish for the Bearcats. Layton finished with a time of 32:44.20, good enough for 29th place overall. Clay Martin ran second for Northwest, finishing in 42nd place with a time of 33:19.13. Missouri Southern also took the men's team title with a score of 56.
