Meet Angela Adams
Freshman Angela Adams will lead the Northwest Missouri State women's cross country teams into the MIAA Championships Oct. 25 in Warrensburg, Mo. Adams has finished first for Northwest in all three races she's competed in this season and finished 17th overall in her first collegiate six-kilometer race at the Loper Open Oct. 11
What brought you to Northwest?
It wasn't too far but it wasn't too close. It wasn't too expensive either.
What's your most unique talent or characteristic?
I think I'm fun. I'm outgoing.
If you could play another sport, what would it be?
It would probably be basketball. I played it freshman year.
What's the funniest thing to happen to the team this season?
Probably when we just fall randomly during our runs.
Anything that surprised you about college cross country?
How much more we run. The mileage is probably doubled in practice.
Is this the season you expected to have?
No, not at all. I didn't run cross country my high school junior or senior years with injuries. I signed on for track here and kind of just fell into cross country too.
If you could change one thing about the sport, what would it be?
Adams and the rest of the Bearcat women will race a six-kilometer course at 11:30 a.m. at Keth Memorial Golf Course in Warrensburg, Mo.
