
MARYVILLE, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State senior cross country runner Matt Pohren earned NCAA Division II All-Region honors at the NCAA South Central Regional meet at Warrensburg, Mo., on Nov. 4, as announced by the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Nov. 7. Pohren is the first Northwest runner to earn all-region honors since senior Drew Wilson placed 13th in the regional meet in 2004.
Pohren finished 15th in the 10K race with a personal record 32:46.1. He was one of eight athletes from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) to earn all-region honors. The team finished seventh in the South Central regional and spent nine weeks ranked in the USTFCCCA regional rankings this season.
The Bearcat indoor track and field teams will open their season at the Iowa State Holiday Open on Dec. 8-9 in Ames, Iowa.
