Women's Track and Cross Country Sign St. Joseph Native

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Northwest Missouri State women’s track and cross country head coach Scott Lorek has announced the signing of Blair Sample (St. Joseph, Mo.) to a National Letter of Intent.

Sample has been a member of the Cross County and Track and Field teams at St. Joseph Benton High School. She was the 2005 Midland Empire Conference Champion, finished third at districts and was a Missouri State Meet Qualifier.

On the track and field team, Sample finished third in the state meet last season and holds the school record for the 1600-meter event with a time of 5:14.44. Sample also holds the school record in the 800-meter as well finishing with a time of 2:19.19.

“Blair will be a great addition to our program, “ Lorek said. “She comes from an excellent high school program with her best potential still well ahead of her. She has very good natural speed and knows how to compete.”

Sample is also a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the honor roll every semester.
