Bearcats Take Sixth and Seventh at the NCAA Regionals
JOPLIN, Mo. -- At the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Cross Country Championships yesterday, the Northwest Missouri State men's squad was headlined by the 13th-place finish of Drew Wilson while Ashley Grosse took 22nd overall for the female program. The men placed 6th overall in the 15-team field and the women were 7th out of 16 teams. The event was hosted by Missouri Southern.
Wilson ended the 10K race in a time of 32:56.30. Next in line for the men was Matt Pohren (17th), Brandon Dart (36th), Brad Trede (45th) and Jeff Kangar (63rd).
Coming in first for the female team for the second consecutive season at regionals, Grosse ran the 6K in a time of 23:22.70 yesterday. Following Grosse was Karah Spader (23rd), Dia McKee (48th), Jessica Montesano (64th) and Heather Brokaw (66th).
Abilene Christian's Nicodemus Naimadu (men) and Adeh Mwamba (women) took top individual honors with ACU winning the men's team title. Central Missouri State won team honors on the women's side.
This meet concludes the 2004 Bearcat season.
