Brandon Dart Earns Weekly MIAA Honor

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Freshman Brandon Dart (Fremont, Neb.) earned Mid-
America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Cross Country Runner of the
Week accolades, announced today by the league offices.

Dart led the Bearcat pack to a 15th-place team finish at the Roy Griak Invitational
this past Saturday. He took 54th overall with a mark of 26:56 on the 8K course. There
were a total of 368 runners in competition.

Dart has now taken first on the team in all three events in 2004. At the season-opening
Mule Run (Sept. 10), Dart was 17th overall while he was 41st at the Woody Greeno
(Sept. 18).

The conference recognition was the first for a Northwest runner this season.

Lauren White of Truman State University took the weekly female honor.

“Brandon has probably been our most consistent runner,” said head coach Richard
Alsup
. “He came in prepared (this offseason) to practice. It is not a surprise on how
well he is doing.”
