Harriers Travel to South Central Regional Meet
MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Northwest Missouri State University Cross Country squads left Thursday, Nov. 6 to travel to the South Central Regional Championships in Commerce, Texas, Nov. 8. The women will run a 6K race at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by the men's 10K at 10 a.m.
The Bearcat men are ranked fifth in the South Central Region according to a Nov. 3 poll conducted by the U.S. Track Coaches Association. Abilene Christian is ranked first, followed by MIAA rivals Missouri Southern, Truman State and Central Missouri State. Northwest will try to place in the top four at regionals in order to have a chance at going to the national meet.
The Bearcat women have fallen out of the top ten in the USTCA poll but will be competing against several of the top MIAA schools. The Pittsburg State women are ranked first in the region, followed by Missouri Southern, Abilene Christian, Truman State and Central Missouri State.
