MARYVILLE, Mo. - Northwest Missouri State University head women's cross country/track and field coach Vicki Wooton has announced the signing of Lacey Jackson (Emerson, Iowa) to a national letter-of-intent.
Jackson, who recently graduated from Nishna Valley Community Schools, holds four school records. She has the top Nishna Valley time in the 800 meters and is also on record-holding relay teams in the 3200-meter relay, the 1600-meter relay and the distance medley relay.
"Lacey will be an excellent addition to our young cross country team," Wooton said. "She has the potential to be a top runner here at Northwest."
She took seventh place at the 2000 Iowa State Track and Field Championships in the 800-meter run. Jackson was also ranked in the Western Iowa Top 10 in the event for the entire 2000 season. She holds numerous meet records throughout southwest Iowa.
Jackson was also a standout volleyball, basketball and softball player. She will be a freshman at Northwest this fall.
