Bearcats 6th, 7th at MIAA Cross Country Meet
EMPORIA, Kan. - The Northwest Missouri State University men's cross country team finished sixth at the MIAA Cross Country Championships Saturday at Jones Park. Meanwhile, the Bearcat women took seventh place.
For the men, Truman State and Missouri Southern shared the MIAA Championship, with each team scoring 31 points. Northwest had 159 points to finish in front of Missouri-Rolla and Southwest Baptist.
The top Bearcat men's runner was Jamison Phillips, who finished 17th in the 8000-meter run with a time of 26:17. Bryce Good was 25th for Northwest in a time of 26:43.
On the women's side, Pittsburg State won the conference championship with 32 team points. Northwest was seventh with 185, finishing in front of Missouri-Rolla.
The top women's runner for the Bearcats was Ashley Grosse, who finished 29th in the 6000-meter race.
Northwest will wrap up its season Nov. 4 at the NCAA Regional Championships.
