Northwest Harriers Run at Nebraska Meet

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Northwest Missouri State University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the University of Nebraska/Woody Greeno Invitational Sunday. Both the Bearcat men and women finished 12th overall in the college division.

The Northwest women were led by Ashley Grosse, who ran the 5K course in 20 minutes, 6 seconds. Grosse finished 61st. Betsy Lee was right behind in 71st, with a time of 20:21. Rachel Jenkins and Kim Scarborough rounded out the top 100, with times of 20:39 and 20:43.

For the Bearcat men, Bryce Good led the way with a time of 27:15 in the 8K run. Good was the only Northwest Harrier to finish in the top 50. Freshman Jamison Phillips had a strong showing for the ‘Cats finishing 88th with a time of 27:40. Close behind was Kyle Daily who just missed placing in the top 100 with a time of 27:58.

The Northwest Harriers will next be in action at the Dean White Invitational on September 22nd in Crete, Neb.
