David "DC" Colt

DCDavid "DC" Colt has served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Northwest since 1981 and is responsible for the care of over 400 student-athletes in Northwest's 16 intercollegiate sports. He oversees the baseball team in the fall and the men's basketball team during the winter. His titles include: MSEd, ATC, and LAT.

"DC" earned his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University in 1977 and aquired his master's degree in Education with a Health emphasis from Northwest Missouri State University in 1978. In addition to his duties as Head Athletics Trainer, he teaches various courses at Northwest.

The native of Kenmore, New York, Colt is a member of the Mid-America Athletic Trainers' Association (MAATA) Hall of Fame, the Missouri Athletic Trainers' Association (MATA) Sports Medicine Hall of Fame, and the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. In 2004, he was named the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer. He currently serves as the President-Elect of the Missouri Athletic Trainers' Association.

"DC" is currently pursuing his Educational Doctorate from the University of Missouri. He resides in Maryville with is wife Susan.
