Bearcat Booster Club Meeting Minutes
Thursday, September 9, 2010
Booster Board Members Present: Pat Haynes, Rod Barr, Dan Edmonds, Allison Hoffman, Linda Girard, Jon Baldwin, Jim Goecken, Bob Rice, Jerry Lutz, John Yates, Teri Harr; Ex-Officio Present: Bob Boerigter, Mark Clements; Guests Present: Darin Loe
President Rice called meeting to order.
Baldwin motioned and Barr seconded to approve the minutes of August 12, 2010, motion carried; Treasurer's report - Clements reported beginning balance of $3,035.50 and a pending deposit of $80,332 from memberships with $6,000 in outstanding commitments, after deposit balance will be $77,367.50 in general fund and $51,178.60 in Transporation; Baldwin motioned and Barr seconded to accept the Treasurer's Report, motion carried
Old Business - Barbecue had approximately 200 Booster Club members & guests and about 250 students and coaches; membership is growing steadily - 535 members with 52 or 53 at $300 or above; the website membership list is up to date
New Business -
A. Baseball - Coach Loe made a request to purchase a Stocker Sport 2 Radar Gun for $749 and shipping
AD Report - Boerigter reported that Soccer Coach Hoza's father passed away and that Ky Hill was coaching the team in her absence; September 18 UNO football game and October 2 Missouri Western football game will be televised; Athletic website is new and improved - added David Boyce from KC Star to write feature articles for us; MIAA expansion - two Oklahoma schools will join in 2012, University of Nebraska-Kearney and Lindenwood have been visited; remaining Oklahoma schools and Arkansas schools joining to form new conference next year; Northwest football schedule full for 2011 - 5 home and 5 road games; this was Dr. Bob's last meeting as Athletic Director and he thanked Booster Club for the support it has given to athletics; search process - he recommended that there be a representative from Booster Club to serve on committee, need to be patient on hiring due to 45 day hiring delay

Goecken motioned and Baldwin seconded to adjourn; motion carried. Next meeting will be October 14, 2010.
