Minutes
August 14, 2008
Board Members Present: Jerry Lutz, Ray Courter, Pat Haynes, Linda Girard, Jon Baldwin, Allison Strong, Teri Harr, John VanCleave, Jeff Otte, John Yates, Jim Goecken, Robert Rice; ex-officio: Mark Clements, Bob Boerigter; guest, Stephanie Martin
President Lutz called the meeting to order.
Harr motioned and Strong seconded to accept the minutes from the June 12, 2008, motion carried; Haynes motioned and Harr seconded to accept the treasurer's report which was reported by Clements as: General Account - $43,373.24 after $7,300 in commitments; and $59,344.06 in Transportation; motion carried.
Old Business -
A. Fall Barbecue will be held August 24 from 5:00 to 6:30 at the College Park Pavilion; come a little early if possible in case assistance is needed in setting up
New Business -

Other Business -
A. Membership Update/Report - 332 members (305 last year); 64 members at the premium level; 60 to 70 new members
B. Update on recent purchases - storage unit has been installed in equipment room; pictures are posted on the web page showing past purchases
Athletic Director Report - Boerigter introduced Stephanie Martin who has replaced Sue Reinders; football, soccer and volleyball have already reported; pre-season rankings good; staff replacements in addition to Martin replacing Reinders are: Volleyball - Allison Highland replacing Stephanie Martin as assistant coach; Athletic Trainer - Kelly Quinlin replacing DC Colt and then Kristin Pfeiffer will be interim training for this year; Strength & Conditioning Coach - Joe Quinlin, new hire; and Track/Cross Country - Tessa Koschel, assistant; facility projects - two new offices for track have been created to put all coaches on same floor of Lamkin; equipment room is completed and locker room will be done within 2 weeks; new MIAA logo has been put on everything; UNO has joined Conference; there is interest from Lincoln and Rockhurst has made application to join - the institutional representatives vote first; Maryville is having a football jamboree on August 22 that Northwest will host; cross country comes in on Sunday, August 17; basketball conference season opens earlier than usual in December against Emporia
