Bearcat Booster Club Meeting Minutes

Booster Board Members Present: Bob Rice, Michelle Drake, Jerry Lutz, Linda Girard, Teri Harr, Jim Goecken, Rod Barr, Dan Edmonds, Ray Courter, Pat Haynes; Ex-Officio Present: Mark Clements; Guests Present: Megan Nelson
President Rice called meeting to order.
Harr motioned and Drake seconded to approve the minutes of July 8, 2010, motion carried; Treasurer's report - Clements reported $19,000, spent $17,500; Training Room was $12,500 which was a savings of $500; balance of $2,000 before Membership dollars added; Membership drive resulted in 514 members which generated just under $75,800 which is up from $58,000 to $60,000; there are a lot of new members; Individual tickets sales begin August 23 for September 2 game and September 7 for October 2 game; there is still another week left for season ticket/Booster Club sales; Drake motioned and Girard seconded to accept the Treasurer's Report, motion carried
Old Business - Barbecue will be August 29 at 5:00 at College Park; Barr reported that the ad for the DII preview Magazine looks good
New Business -
A. Women's Basketball - Coach Nelson made a request to purchase maintenance agreement for editing software used to breakdown film for players from Game Plan for $600
AD Report - Clements reported that Northeastern State University (Tahlequah, OK) and University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond, OK) have been accepted to join MIAA for 2012 school year, Lindenwood has officially applied (looks like "good to go") and University of Nebraska at Kearney request goes to their Board on Tuesday, August 17 - this should move MIAA to 16 team league by the 2012 school year, lots of work to be done with scheduling; MIAA TV will televise 10 football and basketball games (Clements met with Larry House, media person) - they will film a game from each school - for football Northwest will be televised with UNO and Missouri Western and unsure of basketball schedule at this time - there are plans to work with local cable networks to be able to see games locally; football practice started August 12, and soccer and volleyball report August 15 and start August 16; track renovation is finished; training room is a little behind (finishing carpet, but cabinets will not be in until first part of September); tennis courts - windstorm in July damaged fence as well as Grube courts and baseball field - goal is to have repairs completed by Labor Day weekend; Missouri Southern basketball game originally scheduled for January 19 has been rescheduled to January 17 (5:30/7:30)
