AD Report – Boerigter thanked the Board for their contribution to the training room, which the plans are to have done by the time school starts-they are currently set up in the Navy Room, under the stadium, and can stay there if time schedule doesn’t work; the overlay of the track has started and should be done by August 6-the life of the track is normally 20 years; high-rise tennis courts are being repaired and brought up to speed and Grube courts are in pretty good shape; MIAA Conference issues – invitations have been made for AD’s and Faculty Representatives to vote on Northeast Oklahoma and Central Oklahoma to join the conference; after site visits, the Presidents from MIAA institutions vote and the anticipation is that they will vote yes; University of Nebraska-Kearney is also being looked at to join the league; Lindenwood University of St. Charles, MO is looking a becoming Division II; end result will be the conference going from 12 to 16 members; Football will complete 11 games (1 w/natural rival) for 2 years – 4 teams will not play each other in rotation for 2 years; Basketball will play twice during competitive time and others once with probably 8 teams going to Kansas City tournament; reason to go to bigger league is safety in numbers, Northern Sun has 14 teams, Gulf South is imploding – Arkansas and Oklahoma schools are joining together and will leave out Valdosta State and others; Rocky Mountain – coalition of Colorado schools to be only Colorado schools which is why Kearney is looking at MIAA (Chadron may be left out), NCAA has signed new TV contract with Division I Basketball of which Division II will get about 4.27% of the budget, this is up 3% from $33 million to $44 million; Division II should be good financially for next 10 to 12 years
